Voxies NFTs Transition to Polygon

We’re excited to announce the Voxies NFTs transition from Ethereum to the Polygon Blockchain later this month.

With the transition, Voxies NFTs will make their debut on the Voxies Marketplace allowing players to purchase, sell, rent and trade using VOXEL tokens with no gas fees! Holders gain the advantage of Polygon’s layer 2 low gas fees when trading on any platform they choose.

Having both the Voxies NFTs and Voxie Tactics Item NFTs on Polygon will provide a unified user experience and enable the creation of even more exciting ways to interact with your Voxies NFTs in the future.

How Will the Move to Polygon Play Out for Players?

The good news is that there are no required actions for Voxies NFT holders. To ensure a smooth transition for everyone, AlwaysGeeky Games encourages NFT holders to pause any blockchain transactions during the 48-hour transition period and take down any listing on NFT marketplaces.

Leading up to and during the transition, we will communicate the schedule (see below) & progress updates. Once we kick off, we’ll update metadata on Ethereum, take a snapshot of all wallet addresses, and then Airdrop Polygon Voxies NFTs to the owners’ wallets.

Why are you doing this?

Transitioning the Voxies NFT collection to Polygon has multiple benefits including lower gas fees, a unified experience and additional features in the Voxies Ecosystem. You can read more about the benefits in the first section of this article.

Will I be able to play Voxie Tactics during the transition?

Absolutely, the transition will be seamless to players. This will not affect the Voxie Tactics online services or the Voxies Marketplace. Once the transition is complete, we will host a 2-hour maintenance period to test the new Polygon Voxies NFTs in-game (see schedule).

Please note: Voxies NFT holders should pause any blockchain transactions during the 48-hour transition period. AlwaysGeeky Games also recommends taking down any listing on NFT marketplaces.

Will I be able to use my Ethereum Voxies NFTs?

Ethereum Voxies NFT will remain available in-game until the transition is fully complete. This means that you will be able to continue playing with your Voxies NFTs in Voxie Tactics during the transition. Once completed, the Ethereum collection will no longer be usable in Voxie Tactics.

What will happen to the Ethereum collection?

The ethereum collection will be updated with new metadata and a fun new image to communicate the Polygon transition across all the different platforms where Voxies NFTs are available.

Does this affect the Voxie Tactics Item NFTs?

No, the Voxie Tactics Item NFTs are already on the Polygon blockchain and are not affected by this transition.

How do I claim my Voxies NFT that was held in a smart contract during the transition?

Voxies NFTs held in a smart contract are available through a manual claim process. To start your claim, the Ethereum Voxies NFT will need to be transferred out of the Smart Contract and into a personal wallet. Once completed, you can start the claim by sending the Voxies ID to polygon.voxies.claim@alwaysgeekygames.com.
